Established in 1967, the Nacogdoches County Hospital District operates in accordance with Section 9, Article IX, Texas Constitution, and has the rights, powers, and duties provided by this chapter.
The Nacogdoches County Hospital District provides emergency services for Nacogdoches County through Nacogdoches County EMS, supports healthcare employees and patients through the Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital Foundation, Nacogdoches County Healthcare Foundation and Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, provides reliable non-emergency transportation services and serves as good stewards of the Nacogdoches County Hospital District tax paid by members of our community. We also promote a healthier community through outreach and education.
The Hospital District administers a Medical Assistance Program which fulfills Nacogdoches County's obligation to meet the provisions of the County Indigent Health Care Program (CIHCP) which was established by the Indigent Health Care and Treatment Act in 1985.
