Members of the Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital Auxiliary bring inspiration and hope to those who need it most by sharing their time and talents. They take pride in being part of Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital’s 90-plus year tradition of compassion and caring.
Volunteers also give back to the hospital and community through yearly fundraisers and donations from the gift shop. The Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital Auxiliary makes annual donations to the Blood Center and the Nacogdoches Treatment Center and gives funds for the Nacogdoches Memorial Auxiliary Scholarship and the hospital’s Work Study Program. The group has purchased a van for the Cecil R. Bomar Rehabilitation Center and has given other much needed equipment to many areas of Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital.
Mission
The Mission of the Nacogdoches Memorial Health Auxiliary (the Auxiliary) is to assist the administrative staff, the healthcare providers, hospital employees, patients, their families and friends through services and monetary gifts for medical and other needed equipment, nursing scholarships, and community outreach support.
Purpose
The purpose of this organization shall be to:
A. Facilitate greater and better service to the patient population served at Nacogdoches Memorial Health.
B. Create, cultivate and strengthen patients and patients’ family contacts.
C. Contribute to comfort and peace of mind of patients and their families.
D. Help establish good will and mutual understanding between the hospital, and the public served.
Organization
This volunteer service organization consists of dedicated men and women of Nacogdoches County and surrounding areas and renders a needed service in the health field of Nacogdoches County (Texas) Hospital District. The group is organized as a self-governed, non-profit, charitable, volunteer organization in accordance with member approved By-Laws, Rules and Regulations.
The Board of Directors of Nacogdoches County Hospital District elected by citizens of this county, act as the governing body of the district to set policy and have the responsibility to maintain Nacogdoches County Hospital District as a progressive, viable institution. This Board appoints an Executive Officer, (Hospital District Administrator), to carry out the policies of the Hospital District, and the Hospital District Administrator and his/her associates are direct representatives of the Hospital District Board.
The Hospital District Administrator serves as the Auxiliary’s Volunteer Liaison, working with the Auxiliary Board of Directors, assisting with work assignments and schedules, giving in-house assistance in resolving Auxiliary personnel problems, and arranging social affairs and award functions of the Auxiliary. The Hospital District Administrator is an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors of the Auxiliary and the Auxiliary Executive Committee.

Membership
Members of the Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital Auxiliary team enjoy flexible hours and receive a free meal on the days they work, free flu shots, free TB tests and discounts in the gift shop. They also make new lifelong friends and share the satisfaction of knowing they make a difference in the lives of others.
Membership in the Auxiliary shall be open to all people (with a minimum age of 18) interested in community health and the welfare of Memorial Health, and who agree to abide by the policies of the Auxiliary, and the Hospital District. Membership shall become effective upon receipt of such agreement as contained in membership application and upon payment of dues. Members are in good standing as long as membership agreement is upheld and dues are renewed annually. Orientation and placement of new members shall be coordinated by the Vice President of the Auxiliary with the assistance of the Hospital District Liaison.
